CRM UP Methodology
the 23rd of November 2008 Crm-Up has become a reality and it has been released together with the launch of the related website (www.crm-up.com).
Behind the Crm-Up brand there is a new methodology that has been developed during the last 5 years and in which I have been involved within my Ph.D and my consultancy activity.
Crm-Up methodology aims at putting some order in the often chaotic CRM projects domain, offering a structured yet easy (against other approaches like RUP, Prince2, etc.) and flexible approach. The entire CRM project is supported by one tool, that is MetaTools, which stores all the needed information.
The most innovative part consists in the automatic generation of UML compliant visual models of your Oracle Siebel application: in this sense the MetaTools repository will not only contain the business requirements and processes, but also a visual model that is 100% compliant with the Siebel Tools repository!
Among other functionalities, MetaTools improves inter-team communication. The visual models form an intuitive shared base on which business, functional and technical users can build the project together.
Crm-Up provides also some very cool add-ins, such as Use Cases patterns that are based on the Oracle Siebel standard modules and out-of-the-box functionalities. In this way you will be able to understand in an easy graphical way what a specific Siebel module (e.g. Order Management) can do for you and start your gap analysis from the standard Siebel functionalities in order to obtain a better cusomization process.
If you want to have more information about MetaTools and what they can do for you and for your Oracle Siebel application, feel free to directly contact me as I am one of the mentors and evangelists of this new approach and technology. Otherwise you can directly contact Cm-Up on their website.
