Great: SalesForce.com and Google!

Last Monday (14.04.2008), SalesForce.com and Google announced their alliance: now Google is integrated in SalesForce.com services’ offer! This is exciting news as it hints to an expansion of Google in the CRM field and a potential extension of customers’ pool as well as an enhanced visibility for SalesForce.com.

SalesForce.com clients can now make use of Google email, Google Calendar, Google talk and GoogleApps, and, moreover, all this can be aligned with their SalesForce.com data.
It seems that the original idea for this alliance comes from SalesForce.com’s Idea Exchange, being suggested by final customers.
Further developments are expected from SalesForce side in terms of functionalities for their customers. A preview is telephone support for end users, unified billing and provisioning, and additional application programming interfaces for a fee of $10 per user, per month.

Google and SalesForce prove to be quite a strong alliance against Microsoft. As Google is gathering partners in their move to transform the web in a real platform, SalesForce.com might prove to be a very interesting ally because they are also interested (and investing in) web supported platform developments (Force.com). Cloud computing is extending and getting closer to end-users and businesses! We are going to follow closely the evolution of all this and keep you posted with fresh news, directly from SalesForce.com.
